FOUNDER

Baka Sikharulidze is a Georgian-American actor, director and producer, born in Tbilisi, Georgia (former part of the Soviet Union). He was raised in an artistic family, as his father, Givi Sikharulidze is one of the most prominent actors, writers and choreographers in Georgia. Beka’s mother, Rusudan Sikharulidze, was a doctor and the nurturing strength of this artistic family.

Maia Gusharashvili, a Georgian-American finance professional and a film producer was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, to Avto Gusharashvili, a lawyer and a businessman, and Luisa Tsaria, an engineer and devoted homemaker. Early in her childhood, her father’s career took the family to Berlin, Germany, where they resided for the next decade.

Teimuraz (Temur) Khmaladze was born in Nukriani, a village in Kakheti, Eastern Georgia. He graduated in 1973 from the Tbilisi School of Arts, named after Iakob Nikoladze. He then continued his education at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, specializing in Decorative and Applied Arts, and graduated with honors in 1978. That same year, he became a member of the Young Artists Union.

Daviti Garuchava is an accomplished editor and filmmaker with a deep passion for storytelling, editing, and post-production. Known for his ability to bring captivating narratives to life, he has honed his craft through years of experience at AGBO and over a decade as a content creator.

Daviti’s expertise spans editing, cinematography, and mastery of industry-standard software, including Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve. He is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts at San Diego State University (SDSU), where he also shares his knowledge as a teaching assistant.

Giorgi Zakaidze

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Giorgi Zakhaidze was born on February 14, 1969, in Tbilisi, Georgia. He completed his secondary education in 1986 and graduated from the Technical University in 1996 with a Degree in Civil Engineering.

Giorgi Beruchashvili was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, to a veterinary doctor father, Iakob Beruchashvili, and a chemical engineer mother, Nunu Beruchashvili. After completing middle school in 1993, he enrolled at Tbilisi State University to study Geography and Geology, specializing in Geodesy, Cartography, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in 1997.

Giorgi Beruchashvili was born in Tbilisi, Georgia to the family of a veterinary doctor father, Iakob Beruchashvili and a chemical engineer mother, Nunu Beruchashvili.

After graduation of a middle school in 1993, he entered the Tbilisi State University to study Geography and Geology, specializing in Geodesy, Cartography and Geographic Information System (GIS). In 1997 Giorgi obtained a Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.).

He continued to study Law on the faculty of Arts and Humanities at the same university, which he graduated in 1999 with the Diploma (B.S.) in Law.
Giorgi’s professional career started in 1998, when he joined the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) as a Regional GIS/RS Officer of WWF Caucasus.

Baka Sikharulidze is a Georgian-American actor, director and producer, born in Tbilisi, Georgia (former part of the Soviet Union). He was raised in an artistic family, as his father, Givi Sikharulidze is one of the most prominent actors, writers and choreographers in Georgia. Beka’s mother, Rusudan Sikharulidze, was a doctor and the nurturing strength of this artistic family.

From a young age, Beka was introduced to various sports. During that time, he was one of the lead dancers in his father’s Georgian National Folk Dancing Company and toured all over the world. At the age of 13, he retired from dancing to devote his time to Tennis. He participated in numerous international tournaments and eventually became the Georgian National Junior Champion in both singles and doubles.

Shortly thereafter he developed a keen interest in Boxing, Arm Wrestling and Martial Arts (Karate, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Jiu-Jitsu). At 17, he was in the Georgian Professional Arm Wrestling Federation and was chosen as one of two juniors selected for the national team. By the age of 19, he became a black belt in full contact karate – Goju-ryu style. He practiced Kyokushinkai style karate and Japanese Swordsmanship.

In 1997 Beka trained the Presidential Security Service in unarmed combat. Also, he was the personal bodyguard to the Police Commissioner of the city of Tbilisi, Georgia.

In 1998 Beka toured the United States for the World Championship in Full Contact Karate and seized the opportunity to stay and settle in Los Angeles, CA. Certified as a professional by both the USPTA and USPTR, he founded the Beka Tennis Academy in 2001, coaching top 50 ATP professional and highly ranked national and international juniors. He also trained numerous Hollywood celebrities for various movie, television and commercial roles.

With his successful sports career, Beka began to explore his artistic side. His appreciation for film was inspired by such great directors as William WylerVittorio De SicaSteven SpielbergYasujirô Ozu and Mel Gibson. Actors like Marlon BrandoJean GabinCharlton Heston and Al Pacino have also been inspirational in shaping Beka’s craft. His early fascination with cinema led him to study acting under Gregory Berger-Sobeck at the Berg Studio in Hollywood. He later refined his craft with renowned acting coach Ivana Chubbuck. A member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) since 2004, Beka has appeared in numerous films, both in Hollywood and Europe, including his first internationally acclaimed film, L’héritage (2006) (The Legacy), which won the Sundance Special Jury Prize Award in 2007. 

Beka’s significant breakthrough in Hollywood came in 2022 with a Steven Soderbergh thriller Kimi (2022) by portraying the Russian hacker, Yuri.

He expanded his artistic pursuits by studying directing at the New York Film Academy, followed by further education at UCLA until 2014.

In 2014, Beka launched Beka Film Productions, writing, directing, and producing his first short film, Grandpa’s Debtor, based on a story by his father. The film achieved international recognition, winning seven international film festival awards. The film has been purchased by the Euro Channel and has been aired for two years in 86 countries worldwide. 

In 2019 Beka was appointed as official representative of Georgian Film Academy in USA and Canada.

In 2022, Beka wrote and directed his debut feature film From Life to Life, which premiered in September 2023. The film has since received widespread acclaim, earning 12 awards and   8 nominations at international film festivals around the globe. It was also honored with a special invitation for a screening at the Vatican City.

In September 2024, Beka Sikharulidze was honored with a Congressional Proclamation Award by US Congressman Hakeem Jeffries for his distinguished achievements and received a Citation Award from the Mayor of New York City, Eric Adams.

Beka holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations and is fluent in Georgian, English, and Russian languages.

Beka is married to Maia Gusharashvili, and they have two children.

Maia Gusharashvili, a Georgian-American finance professional and a film producer was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, to Avto Gusharashvili, a lawyer and a businessman, and Luisa Tsaria, an engineer and devoted homemaker. Maia pursued her academic journey in German language and literature at the Freie Universität Berlin, while simultaneously studying Western European Languages and Literature as an external student at Tbilisi State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree.

During her time in Germany, Maia completed a two-year internship at one of the country’s leading banks. Upon returning to Georgia with her family in 2000, she joined the National Bank of Georgia. That same year, she enrolled at Tbilisi State University to further her education in Economics and Finance, earning her master’s degree in Finance in 2003. Maia’s career flourished at the National Bank of Georgia, where she held various financial positions, before embarking on a new chapter in the United States.

In late 2009, Maia moved to New York City and enrolled at NYU’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. After earning her MBA in 2011, she began working at a New York-based distribution company. In 2013, she relocated to Los Angeles, California, where she became the Chief Financial Officer of a manufacturing and distribution firm.

While in Los Angeles, Maia’s close friendship with Beka Sikharulidze introduced her to the world of filmmaking. Inspired by her visits to film sets and her growing passion for cinema, Maia transitioned into the industry. In 2014, Beka invited her to co-produce his first short film Grandpa’s Debtor. The film achieved international recognition, winning seven international film festival awards. The film has been purchased by the Euro Channel and has been aired for two years in 86 countries worldwide.

This creative collaboration marked a turning point in Maia’s life. Shortly after completing the film, Maia and Beka married and are now parents of two boys.

In 2022, Maia co-produced Beka Sikharulidze’s debut feature film From Life to Life, which he directed and wrote. Temur brings 38 years of valuable experience in fine arts, interior/exterior design, and motion picture production design.  

As a painter, Temur has participated in numerous exhibitions in Georgia and Europe. In 2002, his works were exhibited alongside other Georgian and Dutch artists in Rotterdam, Netherlands.  

As a designer, Temur collaborated with the Advertising Department of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he worked on corporate identity designs, including logos, interior/exterior designs, and marketing materials. He is a two-time winner of the Logo Design Competition in Georgia. 

Since 1992, Temur has worked as a production designer on internationally acclaimed films, including:  

Udzinarta Mze (Georgia, 1992) – Won the Silver Berlin Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival (with two additional wins and two nominations)  

A Chef in Love (Georgia/France/Ukraine/Russia/Belgium, 1996) – Nominated for the Academy Awards (with one additional win and one nomination)  

27 Missing Kisses (Georgia/Germany/UK/France, 2000) – (Four additional wins and two nominations)  

L’Héritage (Georgia/France, 2006) – Won the Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival (with one additional nomination)  

Moira (Georgia, 2015) – Nominated for Best Picture at the Asian World Film Festival. Georgia submitted the film for Oscar consideration in the Best Foreign Language Film category. 

Temur has been awarded the Georgian Medal of Honor.  

He is married and has a son.

Currently, Temur serves as the Production Designer at Beka Film Productions.

As a trailer editor, Daviti has contributed to critically acclaimed projects such as From Life to LifeInvisible GamesNegative NumbersShindisi, and Brighton 4th. His work has garnered significant recognition and audience engagement, earning him several prestigious accolades. He won the Best Trailer award at both the Mabig Film Festival and the Avanca Film Festival. Additionally, his exceptional editing skills have earned him nominations for Best Trailer at the Vesuvius International Monthly Film Festival and the Rome Prisma Independent Film Awards.  

In addition to his professional achievements, Daviti is the creative force behind TheGaroStudios, a popular YouTube channel with over 505,000 subscribers and 200 million views. His ability to connect with a global audience reflects his exceptional talent and dedication to the art of storytelling.

Giorgi Zakhaidze was born on February 14, 1969, in Tbilisi, Georgia. He completed his secondary education in 1986 and graduated from the Technical University in 1996 with a Degree in Civil Engineering.

In 2002, he began participating in the filming of music videos and advertisements, working in the grip department. 

In 2006, he officially joined international film production company Sarke Studio as an employee, contributing to the production of music videos, commercials, and films.

Since 2008, Giorgi has been working at a Georgian video and recording company Studio Metro, where he has participated in large-scale international projects. These include collaborations on notable motion picture productions such as 5 Days of August (2011), Fast & Furious 9 (2021), as well as major Chinese and Indian projects that were equally expansive in scope.

Giorgi is married, has two children, and a grandchild.

In 1999, Giorgi earned a Master’s Degree in Geodesy, Cartography, and GIS from Tbilisi State University and began postgraduate studies in Environmental Protection and the Sustainable Use of Natural Resources. He completed his PhD in Geography in 2002.

Giorgi joined Beka Film Productions in 2014 and has since served as the company’s line producer.
