FOUNDER

Beka Sikharulidze is a Georgian-American actor, director and producer. He was born in Tbilisi, Georgia (former part of the Soviet Union). He was raised in an artistic family, as his father, Givi Sikharulidze is one of the most prominent actor, writer and choreographer in Georgia. Beka’s mother, Rusudan Sikharulidze, was a doctor and the nurturing strength of this artistic family.

Maia Gusharashvili was born in Tbilisi, Georgia (former part of the Soviet Union). Her father, Avto Gusharashvili was a lawyer, and mother, Luisa Tsaria, an engineer and a housewife. At an early age, her father’s business took the whole family to Berlin, Germany where she lived for the next seven years.

Production Designer

Teimuraz (Temur) Khmaladze was born in Nukriani, a village in Kakheti, the eastern region of Georgia. In 1973 he graduated from the Tbilisi School of Arts of Iakob Nikoladze. After that, he continued his education in the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, on the faculty of Decorative and Applied Arts. In 1978 Temur graduated from the academy with honors and in the same year he became a member of the Young Artists Union.

Giorgi Beruchashvili was born in Tbilisi, Georgia to the family of a veterinary doctor father, Iakob Beruchashvili and a chemical engineer mother, Nunu Beruchashvili.

After graduation of a middle school in 1993, he entered the Tbilisi State University to study Geography and Geology, specializing in Geodesy, Cartography and Geographic Information System (GIS). In 1997 Giorgi obtained a Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.).

Giorgi Beruchashvili was born in Tbilisi, Georgia to the family of a veterinary doctor father, Iakob Beruchashvili and a chemical engineer mother, Nunu Beruchashvili.

After graduation of a middle school in 1993, he entered the Tbilisi State University to study Geography and Geology, specializing in Geodesy, Cartography and Geographic Information System (GIS). In 1997 Giorgi obtained a Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.).

He continued to study Law on the faculty of Arts and Humanities at the same university, which he graduated in 1999 with the Diploma (B.S.) in Law.
Giorgi’s professional career started in 1998, when he joined the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) as a Regional GIS/RS Officer of WWF Caucasus.

Beka Sikharulidze is a Georgian-American actor, director and producer. He was born in Tbilisi, Georgia (former part of the Soviet Union). He was raised in an artistic family, as his father, Givi Sikharulidze is one of the most prominent actor, writer and choreographer in Georgia. Beka’s mother, Rusudan Sikharulidze, was a doctor and the nurturing strength of this artistic family.

At an early age Beka was introduced to various sports. During that time, he was one of the lead dancers in his father’s Georgian National Folk Dancing Company and toured all over the world. At the age of 13, he retired from dancing to devote his time to Tennis. He participated in numerous tournaments all over the world and succeeded in becoming a national junior champion in both singles and doubles.

Shortly thereafter he developed a keen interest in Boxing, Arm Wrestling and Martial Arts (Karate, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Jiu-Jitsu). At 17, he was in the Georgian Professional Arm Wrestling Federation and was chosen as one of two juniors selected for the national team. By the age of 19, he became a black belt in full contact karate – Goju-ryu style. He practiced Kyokushinkai style karate and Japanese Swordsmanship.

In 1997 Beka trained the Presidential Security Service in unarmed combat. Also, he was the personal bodyguard to the Police Commissioner of the city of Tbilisi, Georgia.

In 1998 Beka toured the United States for the World Championship in Full Contact Karate and seized the opportunity to stay and settle in Los Angeles, CA.

Within a few years, Beka had founded the “Beka Tennis Academy” and was coaching the top 50 ATP professional as well as the top National and International Juniors. He also trained numerous Hollywood celebrities for various movie, television and commercial roles.

With his successful sports career, Beka began to explore his artistic side. His appreciation for film was inspired by such great directors as William WylerVittorio De SicaMajid Majidi, and Yasujirô Ozu. Actors like Marlon BrandoJean GabinCharlton Heston and Al Pacino have also been inspirational in shaping Beka’s craft. He studied acting at the Berg Studio with Gregory Berger-Sobeck in Hollywood, CA. After that he was mastering his craft with one of the Hollywood’s top acting coaches, Ivana Chubbuck. He has been a member of the Screen Actors Guild/ AFTRA since 2004 and has appeared in numerous films, both in Hollywood and Europe, including his first internationally acclaimed film, L’héritage (2006), (The Legacy), which won the Sundance Special Jury Prize Award in 2007.

In 2009 he went on to study directing at the New York Film Academy and continued his directorial education at UCLA.

In 2014 Beka launched his film production company, “Beka Film Productions” LLC in Tbilisi, Georgia. In the same year, he wrote, directed and produced his first short film Grandpa’s Debtor (2015) based on his father’s short story. He also starred as the leading character. Grandpa’s Debtor has achieved worldwide success and won seven International Film Festival Awards. The movie has been purchased by the Eurochannel and has been aired for two years in 86 countries worldwide.

Beka wrote and directed his first feature drama From Life to Life in Georgia which is planned for release in 2023.

In November, 2019 Beka has been appointed as official representative of Georgian Film Academy in the United States of America and Canada.

Beka has a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations. He is fluent in Georgian, English, Russian Languages and familiar with Spanish language.

Beka is married to Maia Gusharashvili and they have two children.

Maia Gusharashvili was born in Tbilisi, Georgia (former part of the Soviet Union). Her father, Avto Gusharashvili was a lawyer, and mother, Luisa Tsaria, an engineer and a housewife. At an early age, her father’s business took the whole family to Berlin, Germany where she lived for the next seven years.

Maia graduated from the Freie Universität Berlin and obtained a B.A. in German language and literature. At the same time, she was an external student at Tbilisi State University, where she also graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Western European Languages and Literature.

While living in Germany, Maia did her two year Internship at one of the leading German Banks and in 1999 after her family returned back to Georgia, she started working at the National Bank of Georgia, as an assistant to the president. In the same year she went back to Tbilisi State University to learn Economics and Finance and in 2003 obtained her Master’s Degree in Finance. All these years she successfully continued her career in the National Bank on different financial positions until she decided to move to the United States to continue her educational and professional path.

At the end of 2009, Maia moved to New York, NY and entered the NYU, Leonard N. Stern School of Business. After two years she obtained her MBA and joined a New York based Distribution Company where she worked for two years. In 2013 she moved to Los Angeles, CA and joined the manufacturing and distribution company as the Chief Financial Officer.

By that time, Maia was an already close friend of Beka Sikharulidze and because of him, she had an opportunity to be on movie sets and be a part of the filming process.

In 2014 Beka offered her to co-work on his first short film, “Grandpa’s Debtor” and be a producer of the movie. This was a great chance for her to make the transition to a new world and explore and develop her knowledge and experience in the film industry, a passion she has had most of her life. Little did Maia know that soon after successfully finishing the shooting of the movie, this would also lead to a new chapter in her life. The pair fell in love and shortly thereafter married and now they have two children.

At the present time Maia is a Producer at Beka Film Productions.

Teimuraz (Temur) Khmaladze was born in Nukriani, a village in Kakheti, the eastern region of Georgia. In 1973 he graduated from the Tbilisi School of Arts of Iakob Nikoladze. In 1978 Temur graduated from the academy with honors and in the same year he became a member of the Young Artists Union.

Temur has 38 years of valuable experience in fine arts, interior/exterior design as well as motion picture production design.

As a painter, he participated in numerous exhibitions in Georgia and Europe. In 2002 his works have been exhibited amongst other Georgian and Dutch artists in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

As a designer, Temur collaborated with the Advertising Department of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During that time, he worked on corporate identity designs including logos, interior/exterior design, marketing materials, etc.  Temur is a two-time winner of the Logo Design Competition in Georgia.

From 1992, Temur has worked as a production designer on a number of internationally acclaimed movies. Following are a few of his credits:

Udzinarta Mze (Georgia 1992) – Won a Silver Berlin Bear of Berlin International Film Festival;

A Chef in Love (Georgia/France/Ukraine/Russia/Belgium 1996) – Nominated for the Academy Awards;

27 Missing Kisses (Georgia/Germany/UK/France 2000) – Won a Special Jury Prize of the Brussels European Film Festival;

L’Héritage (Gerogia/France 2006) – Won a Special Jury Prize of the Sundance Film Festival;

Moira (Georgia 2015) – Won a Best Picture Nomination of the Asian World Film Festival. Georgia has submitted the film for Oscar consideration in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

He was awarded the Georgian Medal of Honor.

Temur is married and has a son.

At the present time, Temur is the Production Designer at the Beka Film Productions.

Giorgi’s professional career started in 1998, when he joined the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) as a Regional GIS/RS Officer of WWF Caucasus. He has over 19 years of experience in developing GIS and remote sensing system for Conservation and Biodiversity Management.
In 1999 Giorgi obtained a Master’s Degree in Geodesy, Cartography and GIS from Tbilisi State University and in the same year he started his post-graduate courses in Environment Protection and Sustainable Use of Nature Resources.

In 2002 Giorgi received his PhD Degree in Geography.

Giorgi joined the team of Beka Film Productions, LLC in 2014 and is a line producer of its projects, short film “Grandpa’s Debtor” (2015) and feature drama film “from Life to Life”, which will be released in summer 2019.
